COSMO-PL SPRING MEETING 2006

title: Claims of dark matter detection: DAMA/NaI and INTEGRAL

abstract:

Recent discoveries in cosmology reveal that about 30 per cent of the Universe is composed of dark matter. Several groups is trying to detect dark particles in direct or indirect measurements. One of these groups is DAMA Colaboration. They claims, that they detected WIMP's annual modulation signal during 7 years Dama/NaI(Tl) measurements. I the other hand, R. Foot claims, that DAMA scintilators were sensitive enough to detect mirror matter particles - form of matter which is predicted to exist if mirror symmetry is respected by nature.

Third possibility is light dark matter. Observed 511 keV emmission line from the centre of our Galaxy could be due to annihilating dark matter particles. I want to discuss all three theories.
