========================================================================
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral fellowship position at the Astroparticle and Cosmology laboratory (APC) in Paris. The primary tasks of the position are the analysis of Planck polarization data, the development of a multicomponent model of sky emission in the Planck frequency range, and a participation to the definition and optimization of a future space mission for CMB science after Planck.
The successful applicant will work as a member of the APC CMB group and interact primarily with Jacques Delabrouille. Current research topics in the group include CMB temperature and polarization anisotropies, galaxy clusters, CMB observations with Planck, Polarbear, and QUBIC, and the preparation of a future space mission (recent COrE and PRISM proposals). The postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to join some of the existing projects of the group, and will also be encouraged to develop and pursue his/her own projects within the broad theme of the proposed research topic.
The starting date for the position is March 1st, 2014 at the latest. The initial appointment is for one year, with renewal for a second year contingent on satisfactory progress. Extension for one or two more years is possible depending on the availability of funding. The salary will depend on the level of experience, and health benefits are included.
Each applicant should submit via email to Jacques Delabrouille (delabrouille apc.univ-paris7.fr), as a single pdf file, a current CV (max 2 pages), a list of publications, a research statement (max 3 pages) that describes the applicant's qualifications and research interests relevant of the proposed work. Applicants should also arrange for two or three letters of recommendation to be emailed to the same address. The review of applications will begin on Dec. 8th, 2013 and will continue until the position is filled.
