Dear Boud,

this network is for the moment rather formal, not much money in it. 
However, this is an element of a broader EU science politics. As I 
understand, the standard programs EU do not support efficiently the basic 
science, so people from basic science are now trying to create alternative 
bodies which in the feature will allow for an independent cash flow for 
basic research in physics and astronomy. So in a year or two, it may be 
important. There are already formulated frames for such activity, and they 
are supposed to consist of country networks, joined into a single 
ogranization at the global EU level.
