i'm afraid there is a misunderstanding here.

GNU and GNU GPL are two completely different things.

- GNU is a major part of an operating system.

- GNU GPL is a licence.


There was never any intention to suggest that the code is GNU code.

The term "GNU GPL" was used because it means "GNU's Not Unix General
Public License", it is *not* "GNU Public License".
