Work is needed to get this up to typical GNU/Linux standards, but until GalICS etc become GPL-ed (or equivalent). Now that we've got a wiki, this is almost certainly the best way to work on coding improvements, and a mailman mailing list can be easily set up if people are interested.

Make sure the code is fully "GPL clean". (Ask privately for known things which need to be cleaned up.)
use automake, autoconf etc and make this into a sourceforge package with cvs etc for clean package management
